Statistically speaking, Elvie Sanchez-Quiazon has two things going against her—she's a female, and she's a Filipino. But in an industry dominated by male expats in the top positions, she has risen above the ranks and has the distinction of being the first Female Filipino General Manager of a 5-star hotel in Metro Manila.
Bengzon, who leads the high-level delegation to India, said the travel industry players in India will put together and produce their tour packages for the April–June Indian travel season. “With more than a 50-percent increase in target arrivals from India, the mission will help ensure the Philippines will be in the Indian tour operators’ 2011 tour offerings.”

Marides C. Fernando was elected mayor of Marikina, “Home of the World’s Largest Shoe,” in 2001 and twice re-elected after that. Under her leadership, the city of Marikina has won prestigious awards here and abroad from renowned institutions such as the World Health Organization, the World Bank, the Asian Institute of Management and the Department of Health. Her corporate approach to community management has elevated Marikina to the ranks of the Best Managed Cities in the Philippines.
