Dr. Alonzo Gabriel is one of this year's Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardees (Category: Teaching).

Our very own Dr. Alonzo Gabriel of the Food Science and Nutrition Department of the College of Home Economics received his award as this year's one of the Metrobank Outstanding Filipino Awardees (category: teaching) in Makati last September 7, 2017.

SEARCA Regional Professional Chair 2017 was granted to Dr. Casiana Blanca Villarino

Dr. Casiana Blanca J. Villarino, Chairperson of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Home Economics, has been selected as a recipient of the SEARCA Regional Professional Chair for her accomplishments in Research in the field of Food Science for AY 2017-2018. This entitles her to a grant of five thousand dollars ($5000).

 

Dr. Patricia Azanza receives the Outstanding Research and Development Award for Applied Research from DOST through NAST Phl

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST Phl), awards Dr. Maria Patricia V. Azanza, faculty of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Home Economics, and the Director of the Industrial Technology Development Institute DOST as one of the recipients of the 2017 OUTSTANDING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AWARD for Applied Research.

The faculty of the College of Home Economics (CHE) gathered on the 27th day of March 2017 for the annual celebration of the Research, Publication & Extension Week (RPEW) with the theme “Building Bridges: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through Collaborative Research and Extension Works”. This activity was spearheaded by the Office of Research and Publications (ORP) and Office of Community and Extension Services (OCES) headed by Dr. Alonzo A. Gabriel and Asst Prof. Maria Josephine T. Lumawig respectively.

BSCN graduates garnered a 100% passing rate in the 2017 Board Licensure Exam for Nutritionist-Dietitian

UP Diliman BS Community Nutrition graduates have garnered a 100% passing rate in the 2017 Board Licensure Exam for Nutritionist-Dietitian as released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on March 20, 2017.

The Top Ten of the board passers include three students from UP Diliman namely Remina Amor T. Facultad in the 5th place with 87.15%, Michael Franz B.Valencia in the 6th place with 87.05% and Megan Corpuz in the 7th place with 86.80%.
