Short History

The creation of the nutrition clinic emanated from the need to provide, mainly, the BS Community Nutrition (BSCN) students from the College of Home Economics with a venue to acquire the necessary skills for nutritional care of vulnerable groups using an interdisciplinary approach. At present, the students affiliate with health care centers in barangays and complete their dietetic internship in training hospitals during their graduating year in order to attain skills for medical nutrition therapy.

Exposure and immersion in the activities of the clinic would augment students’ awareness on how nutritional care can be provided with an interdisciplinary approach enriched by a home economics perspective.
